And so it begins!

11 Facts about myself:

1. I was born in the state of Montana in the U.S. which has given me a big love of mountains and rivers and nature in general.
2. I am the oldest of five children in my family (I have one sister and three brothers).
3. I grew up mostly in Northern California which is also an amazingly beautiful place.
4. I currently live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
5. I am a Psychology student.
6. I have danced my whole life and have been a part of two competitive hip-hop teams and one Brazilian samba group.
7. My name is really long... I have two middle names and two last names.
8. My first blog post  was about Brazil and how "obsessed" I was with it.
9. I haven't owned a car since high-school.  I go everywhere via bike or public transportation.
10. My parents met in New York City where they were both dancers.
11. I have a crazy obsession with whales.

11 Questions from Bani:

1. What made you start blogging?
I started blogging because I have always had a love for fashion but the extent of my love for it kind of embarrassed me.  I started If My Fingers Were Feathers as a way to indulge myself in (what used to be) a guilty pleasure.  I could connect with other people who shared my interest while keeping myself anonymous, which I did for about a year.

2. What animal do you think you identify most with?
Whales.  I can't really explain why I am so attached to whales, but I admire them so much.  I identify with their gracefulness as a dancer and have enjoyed learning about their deep connections to one another which reminds me of how much I love people in general.  Whales can be both gentle and fierce which I also identify with.

3. If you could be any kind of plant, what would you be?
I would be seaweed because it gets to sway with the water and it would have such a wonderful view!

4. What are you listening to right now?
I have been listening to a lot of Lana del Rey and Frazey Ford lately.

5. What's the most breathtaking thing you have ever experienced?
My first thought was skydiving a couple years ago.  But I also think that I have been to so many places in Montana that take my breath away.  Nature left alone is always breathtaking.

6. If you could travel anywhere in the world, and do anything that you want, where would you go and what would you do?
This one is hard because for so long my answer would have been "dancing in Brazil," but I'm doing that! Next stop might be Barcelona, Spain where my mom went to high school.  And if I could do anything there it might be to work in fashion somehow.  I would love to be the creative photo director for a magazine!  Vogue Spain... :)

7. Would you prefer a warm rainy day, or a cold and windy sunny day?
I would have to say warm and rainy because I really don't like wind.  Warm rain can be so magical and Brazil has a lot of it!

8. What bug are you most afraid of?
There are spiders in the Amazon that hunt chickens in nearby villages... that is scary.  But I usually like bugs.  I played outside a lot as a kid and the bugs were my friends haha.

9. If you could learn any language, what would it be and why?
My two favorite languages to listen to are Portuguese, which I am learning, and Russian.  So Russian it is! I just like the way it sounds...

10. What is your favorite feature on yourself or the opposite sex?
I don't know about myself, but I love shoulder blades on the opposite sex.  A nice strong back is very sexy.

11. What does the color red remind you of?
Bulls, fingernail polish, poppies, the sun during a fire, ladybugs, indian food, Mr. Big's one red wall in Sex and the City, salsa, lipstick...

Questions for my Nominees:

1. What is the funniest nickname you have ever been called or made for a friend?
2. How has blogging changed you?
3. If you could have houses in three places where would they be and why?
4. If money didn't matter, what would you want to do for work?
5. What do you usually do during the summer?
6. Who is your favorite musical artist right now?
7. What is your favorite genre of foods?
8. What is the most beautiful thing you have ever seen?
9. If you could magically be the best at any skill or instrument tomorrow, what would you want to master?
10. What is the first funny childhood memory that comes to mind for you?
11. What does the color green remind you of?

Thanks again!
