Tyson's Last Night

I knew even before Tyson got here that the two weeks he was going to stay with me would go by too fast.  Life has seemed very surreal since I dropped him off at the airport this afternoon.  It hadn't rained at all while he was here, and today, Rio was sad to see him go and it rained.  I know it's a little mellow dramatic, but I've had "Aint no sunshine when (s)he's gone, and he's always gone too long, anytime he goes away" stuck in my head for two days.  It's true... it's supposed to rain this whole week. When I got home from the airport, the rain was so hard that the power went out in my building and it was a bit gloomy.  I miss him already and I am so glad he came.  I feel like it will make talking to him about Rio more interesting for him and more fun for me for the next (and last!) six months.  I wish he could have stayed longer, but I am grateful for the long visit we did have.

Anyways... :)

For Tyson's last night we decided to go out to dinner.  We chose a famous little restaurant in Ipanema that sits a block off the beach.  It is named after the song "The Girl from Ipanema" or in Portuguese, "Garota de Ipanema."  We got a cozy little table by the street, ordered beers and a caipirinha, and ate good food complete with fried bananas.  Delicious!

Afterwards, Tyson wanted to say a farewell to the beautiful Ipanema beach so we took a long stroll towards home.  Twas a perfect night.  The sand we tracked into my bed is a beautiful reminder haha.

Cheers to traveling and returning home!
Love you Ty,
