Gym Tyme

Hey lovelies.  I'm off to bed early so I can get up early and head to the gym before Tennis tomorrow! I am taking two physical education classes this quarter - tennis and volleyball - which gets me up and active in the mornings, but it has been replacing my regular gym workouts.  Ideally, I will be heading to the gym before my classes each morning.

A lot has to go in to making that happen (but it's all fun and about being good to yourself).  I've got to go to sleep early (do my studying early in the day and limit late night computer use) so I can wake up early (which means I need to have yummy breakfast groceries always stored away so I can fuel my workouts), eat well (cleaaaan machine - lots of veggies, whole grains, protein, and no processed stuff - cook at home rather than go out, etc). This seems like such a typical dumb post.  I feel like everyone and their mom writes about fitness and eating right so blah blah blah, here I go being typical.  :)

I have just wanted to start blogging more which means sharing more of my day-to-day life, and this is what's going on with me!  I'm not trying to lose weight necessarily.  If Brazil taught me anything it's to loooove curves, so if anything, I'm aiming for some nice fit curves.  Hopefully tomorrow morning I won't press snooze about 20 times like I did this morning.  Another thing Brazil taught me... how to sleep in ;).

I tried this kombucha flavor today for the first time: "Guava Goddess." It was yummy!

Yoga ---> Korean Food

Hey yous! Shelly and I were both having off days so we decided to treat ourselves to some yoga and then some delicious spicy dinner.  The yoga class was an hour and a half long.  It felt sooo nice to stretch my body out after spending a few hours studying today in the Library.  The only part I didn't like about the class was that it was heated.  I started to feel a bit light-headed when we were doing a lot of level changes, but I felt really good by the end.  It is a really cool community class where all the donations from class go towards helping homeless youth in the Sacramento area.  It's so nice to be able to do something for myself and simultaneously be donating money to a good cause.

After yoga, Shelly and I wandered downtown and listened to a Mariachi band play in a Mexican food restaurant for a while and then we decided to get some Korean food down the street.  We both got soft tofu soup with kimchi.  It was delicious! What a perfect girl's night... :)

Tomorrow we don't have school so I am going to go thrift store shopping with two of my roommates.  Wish me thrifty luck!

Family Party

Helloooo! I hope you're all having a lovely Saturday.

These are some photos from a family gathering I went to last weekend back at home.  I got to get ready with my sister which was really nice and made possible by my awesome friend Jenelle who lent me all her makeup because I left all of mine in Davis.  Thanks again Jenelle! I didn't get a clear shot of what I did to Chloe's hair but it was awesome.  She sported my brother Eli's top-hat for most of the night and was being her little photogenic self.

It was so nice to see most of my cousins, aunts, uncles, gma, and of course my immediate family.  It made me so excited for Thanksgiving when I'll get to see them all again!   I missed my family so much while I was in Rio over the holidays last year so I am going to really enjoy being with them this year.

My little cousin Sammy :)

This was such a cool idea: the catering company had little trinkets we could put around the bases of our glass stems so we would always be able to find our glass.  I love it! I chose a horse of course (but if there had been a whale... might have had to go with that ;)
A photo of my Grandma and Grandpa back in the day.  Look at her hair!!!

This was one of the most impressive cakes I have ever seen.  It was an armadillo with a little cowboy hat.  No one wanted to eat it because they didn't want to ruin it!
Poor little yummy armadillo.

I said I would post more and I'm keeping my promise. I need to catch my posts up to my life!

Photo Developing with Shellyboo

Hey lovelies.  I have been slooow moving when it comes to blogging for the past few weeks.  I have been really busy with school and the start of a new internship.  I have been taking lots of pictures but not getting around to posting them and then I feel like I have TOO many things to post and I don't know where to begin.

A couple weekends ago I went to the photo lab with Shelly to help her develop some film by hand.  I had never done it before.  It was fun to see the process and just to kick it with Shelly.  Afterwards we made dinner at her place.

Shelly showing me her art studio that she shares with other people from her classes.  Isn't it such a pretty room?!

College life: eating with whatever spoon is available... even if it is a measuring spoon. Hahaha

I'll be better about posting! Promise

Jackets I luv from Nasty Gal

Hey beautiful people!

I feel like it always gets really chilly in Northern California right before Halloween and this year seems to be the same story.  First of all, I hope you all had a lovely Halloween last night.  I spent my Halloween driving back to Chico, where my parents live, and chatting with my dad about photography.   Not the most festive, but I was happy to see my sibling (and pick through their candy). If you follow me on Instagram I just posted an adorable photo that my dad took of two squirrels all cuddled up in a tree crevice. He's got some fancy photos!

Anywho... with cold weather upon us I get an urge to splurge on things that keep me warm.  Here are some very cute options from Nasty Gal.

I want the holographic one and the yin yang one so bad!

Do you have any favorites?
